Today, on a very special holiday edition of the blogulator...

Love is in the air! For this very special Valentine's Day post I would like to enlist the help of my husband, Qualler.

Brigitte: Hey, husband, whom I love, remember what we were doing a year ago today?

Qualler: I do, remember, wife! We were watching last year's Valentine's Day box office hit, Music and Lyrics!

Brigitte: It's true. :) and you only fell asleep twice!

Qualler: Three times! (both kiss)

Brigitte: So, what's on the agenda for this Valentine's Day? What are our cinema options?

Qualler: Well, it looks like this year's holiday hit is the adorable looking romantic comedy, Definitely,Maybe! Should we see that?

Brigitte: Definitely Not! (both laugh, then kiss)

Qualler: That reminds me, wife...who are your favorite pop culture couples?

Brigitte: I'm glad you asked! I'm glad you asked...

Brigitte's Top Five Favorite Couples of Cinema, Television, and Pop Culture in General:

#5 The entire cast of "Beverly Hills 90210." It would be impossible to pick just one couple in this steamy 10 year run. Brenda and Dylan? Kelly and Dylan? Donna and David? (definitely not). Steve and...that girl he knocks up and marries later in the series? Brandon and one of the many, many women he dates? Brenda and Brandon? Mr. and Mrs. Walsh? Why choose! They're all great. This show certainly wouldn't be what it is without the tortured "high school" love affairs, and the incestuous cast keeps the drama and story lines a-moving!

#4 The Hendrickson family. Big Love indeed! Who else could make polygamy so hot, hot, hot?? And who would have thought that Bill Paxton could actually have some sex appeal? (no? no one? just me? well...alright...). "Big Love" brings this foursome into our homes and hearts in portraying not only the every day blahs of marriage but the SEX! I know it's three times the nagging, but...hello! Three times the variety--gentlemen, you know what I'm talking about. Hooray for the upcoming third season!

#3 Gidget and Moondoggie. What a romantic pair! and even though the actress portraying Gidget changes in each sequel, Moondoggie remains true to her...sort of. I mean, sure, he treats her like a jerk in most of the original Gidget, but in the end he realizes how great she is and gives her his pin. His PIN! And...alright...in the sequel Gidget Goes Hawaiian, he sort of becomes possessive and mean, but Gidget stands up to him, saying "I wouldn't take that sort of thing from anyone...except a husband!" when he tries to tell her how to behave. You go, girl! And in the end, they make up, she throws his arms around him, the cast laughs when she makes some comment which refers to the fact that she doesn't understand what sex is. And, in the final part of the trilogy, Gidget Goes to Rome, he sort of ditches her for some Italian woman he meets on their trip...but when that woman rejects his marriage proposal, he totally sees the error of his ways and goes back to his one and only! I can only imagine that they ended up happily married, and I have always tried to pattern my own relationships after theirs.

#2 Dexter and the Ice Truck Killer. The entire courtship is reminiscent of Sleepless in Seattle or The Lake House--the flirty games, getting to know one another by leaving behind little lovers' notes, not really meeting face to face until the finale, having more in common than they may have originally though, all leading up to that amazing first meeting...I just don't know how to put it into words. Hot. Very, very hot.

Qualler: Well, Brigitte, I'm dying to know: who is your number one pop culture couple? Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big? Lady and the Tramp? Niles and Frasier?

Brigitte: No, silly! Those are all great answers, but my number one couple in pop culture is...us!

and, of course, Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon in Taxi.(both kiss, watch Witches of Breastwick 2 on Cinemax, and we fade to black).

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! And in the words of Lady Amy, "she doesn't have a dingleberry, she's a girl!"
