Season Finale TIme!!

Hello Blogulateers! It's season finale time. Tonight I had the extreme pleasure of watching both the season finale of America's Next Top Model (or do they call it the cycle finale? It isn't really a season...) and the season finale of LOST! First thing's first: ANTM run-down time.

And America's Next Top Model is.....

TEYONA! Duh.

Teyona was no surprise. She's been a favorite of Tyra's since the first episode of cycle 13 when Tyra said that she looked like she had "wind in the face" and then got all excited about having coined a phrase (she repeated that phrase several times this episode). She took excellent photos and despite completely failing at the cover girl commercial, I would have been pretty surprised if she hadn't won. However, the surprising runner for the title, and my own personal favorite of the bunch, was Allison.

In my opinion, Allison was the clear winner. She has the most memorable look and she's shown the most improvement in the competition. And she's adorable! (I think she looks a lot like my dog. In a good way.)Seriously, though, I really think that Allison should have won. She really nailed the commercial, and as much as the show puts an emphasis on high fashion, the Cover Girl contract is the main prize, and so the ability to do commercials should be weighed more heavily. Teyona might take beautiful photos, but I don't really want to hear her read lines. Allison was also way better on the runway, and all the judges commented on how much she's improved and how much she really surprised everyone. But Tyra liked Teyona from the beginning, and was so proud about finding a "diamond in the rough," so poor Allison didn't really have much of a chance. She lost gracefully, and I'm guessing she'll still have a career in fashion if she wants it. Teyona's first big prize was to have her photo taken with ... drum roll... TYRA BANKS! Tyra herself announced this fabulous prize and we got to hear a Tyra voice-over during the shoot about how great Tyra was for discovering Teyona. So really...Tyra wins. Again. I look forward to the next cycle! Bring on the shorties! (In the next cycle, there will be no models over 5'7''. There is no stereotype that Tyra will not crush.)

Now, on to the other season finale. After a satisfying (though predictable) end to ANTM, I settled in to watch the season finale I'd really been anticipating: LOST!!!!

Lost season 3, that is (psych-out!). I'm still way behind; but I'm catching up!! ZOMG so many twists! NOT PENNY'S BOAT?? WHOSE BOAT IS IT?!? FLASH FORWARD INSTEAD OF A FLASH BACK?? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE ISLAND, JACK?!?! WHOSE FUNERAL ARE YOU ATTENDING??? WHAT IS WALT DOING BACK ON THE ISLAND AND WHAT DID HE HAVE TO SAY TO LOCKE? WHY DIDN'T THIS FINALE ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS??!??! AHHHHHH!!!

Next Monday Gossip Girl airs it's season finale, which I'm also looking forward to. This past Monday's flashback/prom episode was actually pretty entertaining, and I'm wondering if this whole Blair and Chuck business will in any way wrap up before the next season. Here's hoping!

Haha if anyone finds your post today after searching for "Lost season finale" and finds you dishing on Season 3 the day after Season 5 had its finale, they will be very confused.

I gotta watch the Season 5 finale soon!!!!

Allison does look eerily similar to Nico. Perhaps she was beamed into human form in the future, and Desmond was the one who foresaw those events. Aye, brothah?

Another good season three finale question -- why is Walt so tall??? (I know the answer, Cuse and Lindelof -- I'm just playin' witcha!)

Sean, I just watched your Lost Theories video from way back in March 2008. Desmond going back in time to actually enter the numbers on Sept 21 2004 and then just showing him surfing for a long time is clearly the best possible ending that Lindelof/Cuse could come up with. Brilliant.

I feel very cheated by the season finale of ANTM. Allison definitely should have won cause she did a WAY better job at the last challenge and as the judges were "deliberating," as Tyra loves to say, Tyra kept bitchily snapping at them to focus on Teyona while they were praising Allison.

    Dumb.
