Cable Television Rundown: Curb Your Enthusiasm

In just four weeks, we will be treated to the seventh season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, premiering on HBO on September 20 at 8 pm CST. Because there are really no words that can express how hilarious this show is, I decided to include the ten moments in Curb history that I enjoyed the most.

In season five's second episode "The Bowtie", Marty Funkhauser confronts Larry about the fact that he took a little too much pleasure in learning his daughter had started dating a man after dating women for a long time.

Larry's dad needs marijuana for his glaucoma, so Larry buys some from a dealer (played by Jorge Garcia of Lost). This is just one element of this episode, "The Car Pool Lane", where Larry also picks up a prostitute so he can use the car pool lane to get to the Dodgers game and gives his jacket full of weed to Marty Funkhauser, who then gets arrested at the airport. Also, Larry gets out of jury duty by acting like a racist.

In the season six premiere "Meet the Blacks", Larry finds a little too much humor in the family's name.

In my favorite Curb episode, season two's "The Doll", Larry gets in trouble with network executives when he cuts the hair of their daughter's favorite doll. "JUDY! IT'S JUDY!"

As if Larry didn't already come off as a creepy molester, the end of "The Doll" cements his status.

In season four's "The 5 Wood", Larry, aside from starting a feud with David Schwimmer over the ratio of raisins to cashews in trail mix, needs to get he and Cheryl back into the country club of which they are members.

Season five's "The Seder" finds Larry inviting someone to their house that shouldn't have been invited.

Season four's premiere "The Larry David Sandwich" finds Larry feuding with Ted Danson over who should have the rights to the sandwich name at the local sandwich shop. The Ted Danson sandwich sounds quite delicious to me, while the Larry David sandwich does sound absolutely disgusting. In this case, I definitely take Larry's side.

Season three finds Larry and gang opening a restaurant, and Larry fires his chef in the episode "Club Soda and Salt".

In season three's "The Terrorist Attack", Larry rationalizes to Cheryl why, in the face of a terrorist attack, they should probably not be in the same place.

Curb is a show that takes the "hot wife" formula and reveals what happens when the misanthrope marries her -- he acts like a total a-hole and constantly gets in trouble. Now THAT'S life.

The Ted Danson sandwich is prolly my fave. Hahaha "they're like siamese twins, whitefish and sable!"

This was a great post, I love this show! My favorite here is probably the unwelcome guest that Larry invites in "The Seder"
